Why Fivechic?
In 2011 I needed to come up with a user name. I wasn't sure about the safety of blogging with your real name back then, so to be safe, I decided to create a username. I thought about it for a long time. Usually the hardest part in creating new accounts, for me, is creating user names. 2011 was a busy year for me, and I felt that blogging would offer me a sort of creative outlet; organizing my thoughts and ideas, and getting them all out of my head. My children were all very little, and it seemed as though I was only known as (Child's) Mom. My life was full to the brim with my 5 busy little ones. I finally had them all in school for at least 2 hours each day, so I began the journey of discovering who God designed me to be. What were my interest? What were my ideas? What was my style? Did I even have a style?? Yes, I love simple, clean, white, pastels, shabby chic, eclectic, and romantic details. When I daydream of an imaginary place of solitude, it was always a tiny home or camper in a retro shabby chic design, however, without clutter and knickknacks. I would dream of a place where the sun was warm, the breeze was gentle, and there was nothing in need of cleaning or organizing.
Just as I would find myself fully imersed in my daydream, I would hear an alarm sound from my cell phone reminding me that my youngest child was due to be picked up from preschool... Three times daily, little ducks would quack from my cell phone. A reminder that my children were due to come home, and I would need to get my own five little ducks in a row. And Chaos would slowly commence. Messes would be made, boo-boos would happen, and hugs would be shared.

So, why FiveChic?
The definition of the word chic is: elegantly and stylishly fashionable. Synonyms: stylish, elegant, sophisticated, dressy, smart.
But I have five kids. I can only be so stylish, elegant and sophisticated with five kids! Thus the name FiveChic. I'm 5 kids cool, Yo!
